Impact of Zeolite from Coal Fly Ash on Soil Hydrophysical Properties and Plant Growth

چکیده

Zeolites can be extensively employed in agricultural activities because they improve soil properties such as infiltration rates, saturated hydraulic conductivity, water holding capacity, and cation exchange capacity. Natural synthetic zeolites efficiently hold water. are also believed to have the ability lose gain reversibly, without changing their crystal structure. In present study, several laboratory tests were carried out using: (i) zeolite synthesized from coal fly ash (a waste product burning thermoelectric power plants), (ii) a silty loam soil, typically found Southern Italy, (iii) sunflower reference plant. The selected was amended with different percentages of (1, 2, 5, 10%) effects mineral addition on hydrophysical plant growth evaluated. results indicated that soil–zeolite mixtures retained more by pore radius modification. However, this causes variation range plant-available towards higher humidity values, amount added increases. These data confirm modifies effect decreasing drainage making less habitable for growth.

Characterization of X-type Zeolite Prepared from Coal Fly Ash

This study presents experimental results dealing with the possibility of transforming F-class fly ash into a zeolitic material. Two types of synthesis methods were used in the research: hydrothermal and low-temperature synthesis. As a result of alkaline reaction of fly ash with NaOH, all experimental cases yielded zeolitic material that are rich in a Na-X phase. The mineralogical composition (d...

Growth and elemental accumulation by canola on soil amended with coal fly ash.

To explore the agronomic potential of an Australian coal fly ash, we conducted two glasshouse experiments in which we measured chlorophyll fluorescence, CO2 assimilation (A), transpiration, stomatal conductance, biomass accumulation, seed yield, and elemental uptake for canola (Brassica napus) grown on soil amended with an alkaline fly ash. In Experiment 1, application of up to 25 Mg/ha of fly ...

Zeolite Synthesis Strategies from Coal Fly Ash: A Comprehensive Review of Literature

The ever increasing energy demand in developing world will result in sustainable increase in the fly ash generation, which will remain a cause of concern as far as its management is concerned. However, technological advance may prove to be effective in fly ash management as well as its possible utilization through the zeolites. The zeolites are known to possess many beneficial properties (such ...

Influence of coal fly ash application on trace element mobility and distribution in soil, plant and leachate

Abstract: A greenhouse study was conducted to assess growth and elemental uptake by canola (Brassica napus) on acidic soils amended with four chemically different unweathered fly ashes. The ashes were incorporated into the top 10 cm of 1 m long intact soil cores at the rates of 0, 12, 36 and 108 Mg ha. The objective of this study was to characterise growth responses and distribution of B, Mo an...

Adsorption of Cu(II) from Aqueous Solution on Fly Ash Based Linde F (K) Zeolite

The work focuses on the removing of Cu(II) from aqueous solution by Linde F(K) zeolite. The zeolite is synthesized from fly ash by hydrothermal process. The adsorption experiments discuss several factors including the optimal solution pH, zeolite dosage, adsorption temperature, adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherm equation. The results show that, the optima...
